it’s a high 8 imo, as it piqued my interest
Chronology
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a storage facility in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison.. This series reminded me of the series Fargo, which I loved…
90% of it comes from Quebec
It’s just sad that it’s only 6 30 minute episodes. Margo Martindale is her usual fantastic self… I love all of her roles. I didn’t know that Canada produces over 70% of the world’s maple syrup…
The scenery is so rural Quebec which lends the story a realism
I remember a story about a maple syrup heist in Quebec 10-12 years ago… worth millions of dollars, so I had to watch it. The supporting cast is also amazing… the story has a French/Quebec flavor (syrupy analogy lol). The music is interesting as all these familiar hits are tastefully recreated in French with beautiful voices.
I highly recommend it
The story is drama but with tasteful comedy. Jamie Lee does a lot and it was great to see her on screen again. It’s not as long a series as many others, so it’s a nice change…
a must see
