Goreng: The people upstairs don’t listen to me
Chronology
In a prison where inmates are fed on a descending platform, those on the upper levels take more than their fair share while those below are left staring on scraps and one man decides to change the system. The film was shot chronologically as Ivan Massagué had to lose 12 kilos (26 lbs) over the six weeks of filming to show his physical deterioration. When the characters are on the platform it moves downwards not as fast as before.
Imoguiri: Why not?
Goreng: I can’t shit upwards. Featured on FoundFlix: The Platform (2020) Explained (2020). I don’t understand people giving a rating less than 7 stars and complaining about the plot holes and ending.
What’s the point of a platform hitting the damn ceiling?
It’s a movie that requires a lot of thought as EVERYTHING stands for something. I even saw a review saying "how did they know the platform didn’t reach the ceiling on the top floor? “I could kill them.” Well OF COURSE the platform can’t hit the ceiling since someone has to put the buffet there.
It’s all an allegory!
After that, it’s a REPRESENTATION. You can’t interpret this movie literally. Please read some reviews here that have the interpretation of every character and scene.
You’ll immediately think… wow!
It will be a great help. I wish this was a series I could watch everyday. Really interesting movie, definitely recommend it!
